Elizabeth Brown

Our mother is our hero and role model. She not only survived breast cancer, (a breast health incident as she calls it) she has given us, her children and thousands of others, inspiration, friendship and hope.

All through her treatment, Mom didn’t let on to the fact that she felt terrible, although we sure heard about it when she lost her hair! We saw our Mom battle with confidence, both physically and emotionally. I was there when she had all of her hair shaved off her head. Cancer is so cruel. I couldn’t believe how bravely she put on her wig and marched away.

My mom always wants to make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others. Before her battle with breast cancer she was very successful with individuals that needed career coaching. After recovering from all of her treatments, she wanted to make a difference in a much bigger way and educate men and women about the proactive ways to avoid disease and focus on wellness.

She champions the wellness movement as a way to avoid disease. It was life changing for me because I now exercise and eat right, and she has taught me how to advocate for wellness issues.

Fighting for proactive breast health is our mom’s mission. She founded her own company and works nonstop to make a difference. She is an integral part of our community and strives to provide education to everyone. She certainly has had an impact on me and my siblings.

We all are so proud of our Mom! She gives her all to the company she founded. She was one of twenty women listed on KOSI radio’s for making a difference! She finds great pride in talking with other women whose lives have been changed by breast cancer. We see her scars, and the lasting effects of having a bi-lateral mastectomy. None of this dampened her spirit, but inspired her to make a difference in other’s lives about the importance of wellness.

Her business is growing and it is exciting for us and for her, too. She is following her passion and is making a positive impact in so many lives. I can speak for me and siblings when I say our Mom is awesome. She has helped us to make better choices and lead healthier lives in order to decrease the risk for disease. I will graduate from CU next week, but my goal will always be to make as big of a difference someday as my Mom is making.

While she adamantly avoids the “C” word, our mom knows the mountains and valleys of her journey and works so very hard to provide her own strength and passion to others.

We love you Mom! Alison, Katie and Connor
